University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1 July 2018 to bring together our hospitals in Derby, Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth – to provide the highest quality care to over 600,000 patients across southern Derbyshire and south east Staffordshire.
This outstanding care is delivered through the expertise of 12,000 staff from five sites – Royal Derby Hospital, Queen’s Hospital Burton, Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital, Samuel Johnson Community Hospital and London Road Community Hospital.
The Trust aim to make a difference, save lives and give excellent care to everyone who needs it by applying the highest level of skill, knowledge and research.
Why have we joined ‘Working with’?
“Over the pandemic, many colleagues have found the function of their clinical area change overnight, have been redeployed to unfamiliar areas or have been unable to work with their team due to shielding. Whether work has changed dramatically or we are trying to juggle work and childcare or have vulnerable loved ones at home, the welfare of our teams is fundamental to delivering a great health service for our communities.
“We all have home lives too, and we want our people to feel well supported, valued and listened to. We’re delighted to have Cavell Nurses’ Trust as another valuable resource to support our colleagues.”
Cathy Winfield, Executive Chief Nurse
