In memory stories

Below are a selection of stories from those who have given to Cavell Nurses' Trust in memory of a loved one, often to show thanks for the help Cavell Nurses' Trust was able to provide during difficult times.

For much of her working life my Mother was a Night Sister, firstly at the North Devon Infirmary and then moving to the (then) new North Devon District Hospital. She trained at the Exeter and Devon Hospital. We are very proud of her achievements and she earned the respect of colleagues and those she was in charge of. With that in mind my family chose Cavell Nurses' Trust as a worthy recipient of donations made in lieu of flowers.

My mother was a member of the Nurses League and they have contributed to this donation.

Yours Faithfully,
Martin Smith

It is with much sadness that I must report Mrs Bartlett passed away peacefully at home on Christmas eve. As a nurse who started in care and nursing before the Second World War, she was always very proud of her profession and she was always most grateful for your financial support over the later years of her life, when her finances were not so good.

Your support enabled her to retain some comfort during periods where otherwise there would have been none.

With many thanks,
Mr Kealey
